Rigby Induction Video

CATHY RIGBY - United States of America

CATHY RIGBY became the first American gymnast, male or female, to win a medal at the World Championships. It happened in 1970 in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia. She defeated such gymnastics giants as Karen Janz and Ludmilla Tourischeva. By winning the silver medal on balance beam, Rigby's diverse career went on to include performances in the title role of the Broadway play "Peter Pan," where she recently surpassed Mary Martin for greatest number of performances. She is also one of the best-known broadcasters with her long alliance with ABC Sports.
